2002 ROBERT J. BOYER AWARD

This year, Barbara Paterson has been selected as a worthy recipient for her lifelong contributions to the community. She has done much to preserve our history, authoring, engineering and researching many books that document the history of our communities. Barbara was a founding member of the Muskoka Genealogy Group and has been involved for more than ten years with the Muskoka Pioneer Village in Huntsville. In addition, Barbara has worked with the Muskoka Heritage Foundation for several years on the Muskoka Archives project.

Ms. Paterson's name will be inscribed on a statue created by Brenda Wainman-Goulet for the Foundation. The statue includes replicas of the old Muskoka Herald building, a bell tower and an old style house - all of which reference Muskoka history. It will be presented by last year's award recipient, Maureen Hunt.
